Democratizing Security: Build Your Own Security Lab in Seconds

Setting up a security lab is tedious. Finding the right vulnerable application, pulling the image, configuring the environment, figuring out what to test. Most people give up or pay for a platform that does it for them. Vulnerable Target (VT) is a free and open-source CLI tool that eliminates this friction entirely. One command, and you have a running vulnerable environment. Filter by tag: SQL injection, XSS, SSRF, OWASP Top 10, real CVEs. Community-curated templates keep the library growing. In this talk, we will live-demo VT from scratch, walk through the template system, show how to contribute new targets, and prove that the only things you need for hands-on security education are Docker and curiosity. No subscriptions. No platforms. No excuses.
